In just under a month on Thursday July 11th, the Saratoga Race Course will open for yet mother season. One of the most popular attractions in upstate New York, the track first opened over 150 years ago, and will be having some big additions this coming season. For starters this is the earliest opening day ever, and there will now be two “dark days” a week instead of one. Don’t worry however, there will still be the season that ends on September 2nd will have the same number of race days as always. And new this year at the track is the three-story “1863 Club” that features luxury suites, banquet spaces, event space, and historic memorabilia from throughout the rich history of the track.
An event filled season from opening weekend, to the Whitney, to the Travers, will have an extra treat this year in case you’re a baseball fame, as Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera will be honored on July 12th!
Just 25 minutes from Lake George, the track is a great day of fun for any traveler visiting beautiful upstate New York. Where else can you enjoy a day of races at one of the oldest tracks in America and the next spend lounging on the most beautiful lake in America George (recently voted #1 again!!!)!
